Amida Training provides high quality training in a friendly, supportive, encouraging environment.
Amida offers New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA)-recognised qualifications. They are aimed at people who work with those who have disability, illness, or require support as they grow older.
You can choose to take on a National Certificate in Support of the Older Person or an industry foundation certificate, or you can revise particular unit standards one at a time.
Each course combines the sharing of knowledge with hands-on experience, and enables participants to draw from and apply their existing skills.
Amida’s approach enables you to build a recognised qualification with manageable building blocks.
Your participation in the part-time courses involves: · lectures · written assessments · work experience · practical assessment in your workplace
Amida Training recognises the experience you may already have in this industry and can offer RCC through an assessment of your skills in the workplace. By providing evidence of current competence, you may not be required to revisit previous studies, apprenticeships or training, although we recommend you revise what you have already learned.
As well as achieving NZQA unit standards through Amida, you may also apply for the Residential Care Association Badge and Certificate. This costs an additional payment of $60.00 and requires completion of 500 hours of work experience, an eight-hour placement, a 500-word essay and a current First Aid certificate.
Amida may be able to offer subsidised training through WINZ and the Community Support Services Industry Training Organisation (CSSITO).
